00.1 Course Checklist

Welcome!

Welcome to The KNITSONIK System, in which I’m going to share my processes for translating everyday inspirations into stranded colourwork.

Content is currently in production, and will be appearing here gradually between now and October 7th - the official launch date of this course. Please don’t be alarmed if things are looking a little bit bare right now: everything is on its way.

For now, there are some things you can do to make sure you are prepared and ready for our official launch day on October 7th. Please read this list through carefully so you can begin your KNITSONIK Stranded Colourwork Adventure well-prepared.

  • Check you have suitable knitting needles (see Section 00.3: Needles).
  • Ensure you have chosen your inspiration source and that, if it’s a photo, you have printed it out (see Section 01).
  • Assemble a yarn palette to use throughout the course either by putting it together from stash, or by ordering from a stockist (see Section 02 for content designed to support this process and for your 10% discount code, if you are planning to order directly from my friends at Jamieson & Smith.
  • Obtain some squared or dot-grid paper on which to sketch your charts and patterns. I will supply some printable options when we get to that portion of the course, but you may prefer to work in a notebook or journal. It’s fine for you to work on a computer, a tablet, a notebook if you prefer those tools for charting, too.
  • Make sure you have a pencil and a good sharpener. A single HB graphite pencil is fine and an eraser is always helpful, too. If you like using coloured pencils and find them helpful, you could additionally put together a set to match your yarn palette but this is not essential.
  • Read the information about the Zoom sessions and ensure you are Registered for the meetings to receive the login details (see Section 00.2: Zoom Sessions).

...this is going to be so much fun!
